I purchased some Bomb Proof motor mounts for my TJ. To read the instructions (yes ladies, I do read the instructions) they make it sound like a job your mom could do in an hour. While the product itself is good, fit was right, looks good, man, do a little research and be honest about the installation time. I found that, like all other OEM manufacturers, assembly lines make for speedy assembly of the vehicle, but when it comes time to replace worn parts, you find the design engineers weren't thinking too clearly about us, the end user. Something as simple as a motor mount through bolt becomes a total disassembly of the freaking engine compartment. When Chrysler's line monkeys put the engine in my Heep, there must have been a left-handed person (PC) on the right side of the line and a right-handed person on the left side. Somehow, and I have an idea how, the Left-side monkey put the through bolt in from the front of the vehicle. Once the motor mount is bolted in place, it won't come back out because it hits... The freaking A/C compressor. Brilliant! So, do I take the A/C compressor off, or unbolt the block-side motor mount? Sheesh. So, Bomb proof they may be, but bitch they are to install. I alloted 45 minutes to do the job, should have been done in 30. 2 hours later I'm finally washing the blood off my hands (not mine).
Thats why I would rather fabricate my junk. At least when there is a problem I have no one to blame but me!
Damn that felt good, I'm gonna go have a beer now...:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
