Hello MJR people!
A friend of mine who lives in the San Bernadino Mountains contacted me the other day about a Jeep for sale that needs some TLC but is definitely priced right! From what I know, it needs a Left front Headlight, a front fender, work on the right one, a front bumper and a water pump on the 4 cylinder motor. (if it needs a radiator, I have one), The Jeep is a 4 speed I believe from the description, has the 151 4 cyl engine & runs. It should have the short shaft version of the D300 TC and does not have top or doors. Registration is only lapsed by a couple of months so it shouldn't be a problem with the DMV. Anybody looking to own and fix up a CJ-5 should contact me so we can find it a good home. Would like someone who would fix her up, not part her out and wheel it as any nice CJ-5 should be on the trails. The Jeep is only 800 bucks so let me know as someone's gotta have a need. I have a fleet of Jeeps now so I can't take this one in or id add it to my fleet. You need to bring a trailer because the water pump is out so it cannot be driven unless the pump is replaced first.

Do you have any photo's of the jeep. My son rolled his CJ5, broke his back in 4 places, being stupid in front of his girl friend and too much throttle. Antways, he walking again and I need to put his totaled jeep back together.

I have asked for some pictures of the Jeep. I will post or send them when I get them sometime in the next few days.

Hope your son is alright after that misshap...

I was looking at your pictures of the squeeze rock on Old Brewer.... Was just there last month cause Swamp was still closed with snow in the end of June. We had a great time and I always like the last boulder field between the outhouse and the lake becuause it's the most challenging part of the trail. There were still some large snow drifts we had to wheel over to get down by the lake at the tree line next to the boulder field.

We are going to be up there again over Labor Day for 5 days as a last summer trip to the Sierras. Probably do Coyote, Mirror, Strawberry, Old Brewer and maybe Swamp depending on how crowded it will be with CA4WDC running it that weekend....

This Jeep needs a nice home and someone who will fix her up nicely. It has the Iron Duke engine in it so that means it's got the V8 Chevrolet bellhousing attached. It would be simple to swap a 350 in like I did with my CJ-7 and run hydraulic clutch to boot.... The four cylinder engine needs a water pump before it can be driven though.

I have a picture of the Jeep, cannot post it up from a camera phone but the thing looks straight and has the doors with sliders. I think it would make a good foundation for the wrecked one. Haven't personally gone up and looked but it's there and can be used as the basis to rebuild your son's. Email me at the address I gave you earlier and I will send you the pic I have of it. He also said he'd let your son have it for $700 cash money to help him out if he wants to rebuild it and get back into "safe" wheeling....

Clay

Sounds like a good deal here.
Good to hear that Nick is up and moving again.
I am currently in Bahrain, getting ready to fly out to the ship later this week.

sorry I missed you, as I stopped by your house one day, but you all were gone.

See you all in Oct for more wheeling.

Todd
