I'm curious what it would take to swap my 258 with an AMC 360. I have the T176 currently. I have what is supposed to be a good running 360,actually I have 2 of them. One was mated to an auto and the other to a T18. I have a set of 304 frame mounts off a '74 CJ5 frame. I replaced the radiator with a 3 core unit a couple of years ago. I have heard that I need to change to a different heater core to clear the V8 valve cover but not sure on that...

I also have a 6.32 geared T18 and dana 20 out of a '78 or '79 CJ7 that I could also use.

I did that swap about 10 yrs ago. If you have the V-8 motor mounts it should swap right in. I didn't have any issues with the heater core.
