ok, my friend wants to buy my old cherokee, just the body and "frame" he wants to know if a chevy 350 will fit??? he said hed gimme 300 bucks for just the body so i really hope it works :) . hope someone out there knows, oh by the way its only a 4cyl so that might be a prob....but nothing a bfh cant fix...

It should fit. I've seen a couple XJ's with 350's . . . I think one even had a new Vortec 5.7 FI. It was red with an Exo-cage.

Good info, but I think he would want to use a Turbo 350 or 400 or a 700r4, if he wants overdrive . . . even a chevy 4 speed manual would work too. I have a feeling a stock AX-5 wont hold up to a chevy 350 . . . even though it is only a chevy 350.

agreed! ditch the ax5, and swap the whole mess. your best bet is to buy a totaled donor vehicle, and take the whole drivetrain

ok, i think its a good thing that you(chris) have seen 350s in a jeep. I will have to talk to him about what trans hes gonna use.
