Well...occasionally (like 1 outta every 5 starts) in my 97' Wrangler I get a whining noise for a couple minutes when I first start out. The noise stops when I press my break.....so it has me stumped, since the whine is usually when people press their breaks....SO....any ideas of what could be the trouble...Thanks

do you have ABS? Could be the ABS pump screwing up, or something. If you start the Jeep with your foot on the brake does it do the same thing?
