Does anyone know at how many inches of lift the front driveshaft actually has to be replaced on a TJ?

Not sure, I know I didn't have to replace mine with my 4" lift. I ended up getting lower control arms to fix the caster though.

I haven't known anyone to need a longer front shaft because of lift. I really don't know of anyone with more than about 5" of suspension lift though.

check if you can get it relengthend (sp)

unless your running too much lift, I dont see why you would have to get a new one or get it replaced . . . oh except if you have a flat skid, maybe.

you would need to modify if you go belly up or CV style front driveshaft. maybe that would help, dont really see how, but just throwing out an idea

I didn't have to modify anything when I went flat skid. Front DS on A TJ is already a cv shaft. You can run a lot of lift before you need to worry about front DS.

I had to make mine shorter!!!! :eek: :D :yay: but ofcourse mine is a quite differant application.

6" full traction long arm lift here and stock front shaft. No problems at all. And nice to meet you blkTJ :P
