fix whatever is setting it off, and it should reset itself after a few starts.
otherwise, you can disconnect the negative side of the battery for a few minutes, and it will also reset it.
be careful with this method if you are planning to get smogged any time soon. there are readiness monitors that are often reset at the same time. this will cause you to fail the smog even if you are not polluting.
the best way is to pull the codes, fix the problem, reset the computer, and drive for a few days. then recheck codes/readiness monitors.

I heard that even if the problem is corrected, that it takes about 200 miles before the sensor cycles to that test again. The dealer can reset it if the problem that created it is corrected.

With a little bitty hammer.

This just happened to me in another vehicle, I overfill it with gas but after a few miles (less then 10) it went out on it's own. :)
