I have an SE 2.5.... I love my jeep, but next time will go with 4.0 @6. I really enjoy this one, though. Stock as it is, for now! Going up soon, 2 1/2" w/31's and quick "Disconnect"- lights, hooks GO!

Jeepkreep 06-12-03, 02:00 PM Got the 2003 4 cyllie......
they made it a 2.4 this year. With the stock 4:11's, it's kinda zippy:sarah:
.............sure crawls nice.....
Your right, it 2.4. Don't know why I was thinking 2.5. And your right again about it being zippy. Except going over the Continetial Divide, which I did right after I bought it. We took it to MI, it was a good ride. First 500 miles was freeway going, in fact the first 4000 miles was mostly freeway. As for it's abilities where it belongs, on the trail. I love it! It is great pressure valve, I took it tuesday to old trail. Yes, alone. Took a old old trail. Could tell it had not been traveled in a long time by the deep ruts and brush getting taller in the middle of it. Loved it!

TACOJ-7 07-06-03, 03:34 PM Hows the 2.4L holding up for it's first year out?

TACOJ-7 07-06-03, 04:59 PM thats good
Jeepkreep 07-06-03, 05:29 PM I must say that since I put the 31's on, it's a bit doggy:sarah: on the long highway hills. It is a 4 cyllie and I realize that we're talkin' bout a Jeep; not a Camaro that's built to cruise. The 4:11's it came with help alot, and once she's on the trails you can't tell it's a 4 banger till you really get in a spot you need torque. But she still goes places I never thought I could.
WOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!:yay:

I wash my TJ every time I get back from the trails. I want to keep the paint in good shape as long as I can.
Jeepkreep 07-07-03, 04:54 AM Trail...
I have a few people I know over there, but It just erks me that once the media stops coverage, in many ways the conflict and American lives are almost forgotten.
I'm not gettin political, far from it. I just feel the service men and women; fellow Jeepers; are over there doing an un-glorious (is that a word??? ) job,and we should remember the sacrifices they make for our protection. Given the chance, I am sure alot of the people there would rather be somewhere else.
Any way...Back on topic!:D What 4 cyllie are you runnin?
Jeepkreep 07-07-03, 01:54 PM As a member of the Armed Forces, I want to say thanks for them.
Well I'd like to thank ALL of you for the careers you have pursued. It is a sacrifice to be away form your loved ones and friends, even when stationed in the states! If you can't tell, I'm just a little pro- military!
Thanks to all of you!
here is my 2.5 four banger...

NAILER341 07-25-03, 09:51 AM welcome, i4... i need another yj person to help me keep all of these tj people in line :) welcome to the board
thank you, i am not too big on tj's either...:D
king4wd 10-02-03, 10:49 PM Our Jeep "Marvin" is a '98 SE 4-banger. It seems powerful enough on the trail. The only time it feels sluggish is at speed on the freeway. But then Jeep aerodynamics blow! Plus, when we have the overhead rack on mileage goes down the tubes on the freeway. However I have noticed that on the trail, we use a whole bunch less gas than our big-engined friends with their V-8's and I-6's. Another bonus is less power=fewer broken parts.

Less power also equals...LESS POWER! :D
I think broken parts make wonderfull mantel decorations, and coffee table conversation pieces...

wooooow, you fit in perfectly among us! :8 :P :D jeepin' is definitely a "way of life."
Mandelon 11-02-03, 08:51 AM This is the first four banger I have had in 10 years. It is doggin on the freeway uphills, but maybe that will keep me from getting speeding tickets. It does get a little wiggly over 75 mph anyway...that was down hill..
94 YJ. So far so good.
carrizojim 01-13-04, 02:40 PM Did all of you YJ 4 bangers take the goofy little veturis (a tapered looking plastic horn) out of your airbox opening and the beginning of the tube that leads from the airbox to the engine? They both come out with a screwdriver, for a noticable boost in top end.....
carrizojim 01-13-04, 02:41 PM Scuze my spellin'... That's venturis...
