I had a Ramsey REP8000 winch given to me by a guy I used to race stockcars with.It was mounted on a 3/4 ton Chevy truck he has.It was on a winch mounting plate that I incorporated into my rear bumper.Any how it was in need of repair.My friend Joe(who gave me the winch)and I took it apart to see what was needed.The motor was obviously shot and the motor end bearing support was bad.I went to ramseys website(which has excellent parts break downs as well as operation instructions) and then called them.The new motor includes the bearing support so I ordered that and it arrived in about a week.I decided I would share the rebuild with the fine folks at MJR.

The REP8000 uses 5/16" wirerope.I usually have 5/16" wirerope on hand as the hydraulic winch on my brush chipper uses 5/16" also.So here is the new line that will be going on the Ramsey(well at least 95' of it will).http://www.myjeeprocks.com/forums/gallery/files/3/8/4/000_0224.JPG
