95 Grand Cherokee - Message Center on the fritz - on - off - blinking

Sometimes the message center area is just plain off... and sometimes it's kinda on. When it's on, the clock time just flashes (blinks on-off-on-off) but neither button will do anything, can't set the correct time.

Any ideas?

bad connections, bad circuit board, bad screen? Have you tried hitting it?

Yesterday I was able to set the time while it was on... but then about 5 minutes later, it turned off again. Then it turned on again but the time was reset and it was just flashing again. Guess I just have to dig into it.

Anyone know how these Info Centers come out easily?
