I just got a Dana-300 & other things for next to nothing.

Question is, on my 79' QT w/the 304 & TH-400, can I bolt up the d-300 to it or do I need to get the adapter. I might need a new tail piece, I don't know.

I was told that it might just bolt up???????

Thanks,

Here is a site for the adapters: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_134.htm If you do have the right adapter you will have a 6 bolt round adapter on the TC side and splined output w/no gear bolted on to the transmission output shaft. I'm not sure about the QT but the adapter to D20 and D18 is not the same as the D300.

Nope, I'm afraid not... The T400 has a 10 spline output, the Dana 300 has a 23 spline input. Plus the bolt patterns are different.

IIRC, the Chrysler 727/Quadratrac in the 80-86 Cherokee/Wagoneer will bolt up to the 300.

What about bolting it up to a Th-350?

I was told today to look @ the bolt pattern to match it up.

Question: Doesn't the Th-350 have the circular bolt pattern, thus wouldn't the d-300 bolt up to it.

I know we talked about the th-400 but I made a mistake, I have a T-350.

Does the Th-350 have the 10 spline like the 400 or is it a 23 spline.

The D-300 is out of a 82' CJ I think, if that helps.

Thanks for all the help in advance, just trying to figure this out
b-4 I go buying adapters.

Thanks again,
