I'll be camping on Friday night (Night Run:8 ). I have to leave saturday, after the run, for my dad's suprise b-day party (SHHHHH!) on sunday. :D

I cant wait to take the TJ out!!:D

I'm in. Probably not camping but I will be there Friday night. I'm planning on staying at the Marine base there in town. Lets meet at Peggy Sue's 9:30-10:00 on Saturday.

Count us in! We'll see you all at Peggy Sue's at 9:30.

The kids, a friend of theirs and I will be there Friday night as well, and leaving Saturday after the run. :D A night run sounds fun, the last one was a BLAST!!!

JEEPS down getting electrac installed- ring and pinion don't line
up- wrong ring and pinion?
called mad4wd- they say send email and they will call me back in the morning- hum- 4 day's till calico- will it make it? send pictures too. Larry seems concerned (larry is cool).
Track bar still not here from Rubicon express.
Roll cage install put on hold till jeep is drivable again with ring and pinion deal.
thought! better check the front ring and pinion tomorrow to make sure they are correct-
called wife- "please drive 75 miles to pick me up from work, that $1500 bucks I just spent on the jeep is making it not drivable...yet"

what the hell did they send you? i got my gears through "mad 4 wheel drive" too, and had great service.. i'm sure he will get it right for you. too bad with the delays though. :wave:

notice the front part of the roll cage coming down the front windshield.

some mods still got to be made to make it all come together and the rear all has to be installed.

i assume you're going to lower gears :D did they replace the carrier? most Dana/Spicer gearsets lower then 3.92 (IIRC) require a new carrier because the pinion is so much smaller. might want to "remind" them of this fact. ain't no way they'd be able to shim out that much space. i hope they aren't going to try! :eek:

I got my axles in, but I wont have the ARB's hooked up for this run( time and money). What does it all mean . . . it means I wont be running lower doran:( :( I know, I know. theres always next time. I cant wait!!!!!:D

I ordered new carriers, complete master install kits for the front and the rear, the electrac unit for 3.92 and up. new ring and pinions front and rear, new front carrier for the 4.56 gears.
All the shims, bearings, fluid, you name it I got it- just doesn't fit is all.

Looks like the wrong locker :( . Check those part numbers , BUMMER !

I've given them the serial numbers off the electrac, the ring and pinion, measurements, the old case measurements, old ring and pinion infor, the original tru trac info. pictures of everything on line. Just waiting for them to decide what is wrong.

first agr steering gear was bad, had to send another one.

headers were sent missing parts and a used return from someone else.

track bar from rubicon was incorrectly made
they sent another one after forgetting to send it for a week and I had to call them again about it.

first locker was on backorder for 3 months, finaly had to change the order.

ahhh ok.. i was wondering how they were able to keep it on the lift for so long...
by the way, i checked the pattern on the ring gear, and it is a thing of beauty :) it covers most of the tooth... it must be the way the locker works that is allowing the backlash to seem too much.

Hey folks!! I'm brand new to your board - visiting from Rockcrawler.com. I noticed that there are members from several off-roading sites planning on doing some 'wheeling at Calico this weekend. My wife and I are planning on being there also, hoping to join a group to run some of the trails (not wanting to do these trails alone). Do you think everyone is going to band together in one large group? Just curious - we're going to be out there Friday AM with the RV and the un-Jeep (a Bronco II - the Jeep's not quite ready for the trails yet :( ) and didn't want to barge in on a private party.

We'll be on the lookout for other early arrivals. If none are found, 03Jeepster suggested camping by the tunnels. We'll park there until you guys arrive and scope out the area for camping options.

....the BII should do Ok on the trails ;) I'm not too sure about the entrance to Doran - we'll have to check it out first :8

Hi Erik. I'm near Walmart (Carson & Paramount). I'm heading up to Big Bear this weekend with a buddy and his Toyota. Found the problem with the electrac unit.
one have is for the 3.92 and up-
the other half is for the 3.73 and down.
It is a miss assembled part- the only one I'm sure, Just like I got the only Rear track bar with right hand theads from Rubicon.
Anyway they overnighted the shippement so it should be here friday- only they didn't ask me where to send it and it will go to my house on Friday so it won't get me to the trail on Saturday.

Well this is the second Calico run I have to miss due to part order problems.

Yes there is a bypass , But I would bet the CJ6 would make the waterfall , although it might get some scratches on the paint job ;) . I will not be making it :( , I have too much work at the shop, Xj lift and a ARB install going on Saturday . Have fun everybody !!!
