We'd like a bigger tent. We decided on the EurekaŽ Tentragon 9. I broke one of the most famous laws known to product purchasing: Fast, Cheap, & Good Quality ... You can't have all three. (or something similar to that, hehe)

In Sarah's dream world:
C & C Outdoors is in San Diego, so I should get the order quickly.
They had an amazing 10% off the tent, which was a great deal for an '06.
They carry good brands, including Eureka.

Ordering the tent a week and a half before the IDTT run, Wednesday night, I figured we'd be good. Come Tuesday (wasn't I patient!?) I emailed asking for my tracking number.

Turns out that the tent wasn't even in stock, and they hadn't even thought about telling me that small detail. They said I could cancel my order, but the tent would be coming in on a shipment any day! So, I sit and wait. It's been a week now, with no updates and little communication. They do know that the tent missed my event though. There has been no attempt at an offer of quicker shipping, or any sort of mending for the extreme delay, just an offer that I can cancel my order. (like, duh!)

This all could have been avoided if they had STATED on the site that the tent was out of stock. This is by far the longest it's ever taken me to get ANYTHING online ... but you can't have all three I guess, especially with these guys.

I will definitely not be ordering from this store again. :(

Damn, that sucks! Had I known you guys would have been welcome to use mine since I wasn't able to be there except for the Ghost Walk.

I feel your pain. I am running into this situation more and more. An online store is more than willing to take your order and money when a listed item is not in stock. All I do is not do anymore business with them and let others know.

But it suX0rs.

Hey Don, thanks for the kind thoughts but we have another tent, just currently looking for a bigger one, so we were allright.

Well, it's Thursday and no sign of any tent has come my way so I wrote to them to cancel the order. The tent must still not be in because they just wrote back and said "I apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled your order and no charges have been made."

Now THAT'S customer service! See how quick they responded in cancelling your order?! Weird how some folks do business...

We just bought the same tent (Eureka Tentragon 9) this weekend, couldn't pass it up for $75. Did you end up getting it? How do you like it? Any info, good or bad is appreciated

You must have gotten last year's model! The 2006 was the one I wanted after comparing the specs, and yes I paid full price, minus the rebate from Eureka. I had it set up in the rec room for a week or so, but haven't had it on the trail. Even indoors it was easy for me to set up alone.

It seems roomy but not huge, which is exactly what I was expecting. It also came with some cool organizers for the interior, and I really like all the windows, the fact that they all zip and there's no mesh walls like most 3-season tents I've seen. Hopefully it will see the trail soon!

P.S. I ordered it from CAMPMOR.com, and everyone knows that they rock the casbah :D

*EDIT* I actually got the SUNRISE

Note sure if I got last year's model? It looks exactly like the one on Eureka's site with the "improvements", and also has everything you described about yours.

Anyway, I don't know much about tents, but my wife liked the roominess and the fact that it is 6ft tall at the peak. I am more concerned with ease of setting up and sturdiness, last thing I want to do after wheeling is to fight with the tent to put it up.
