Looking for a confer rack. Anyone have one taking up space?

I know this is a little old, but do you still want one, and how much would you be willing to pay? I have one originally from a "VW Thing"... I might be trying to figure out how to mount it to my Jeep if I can find brackets, or devise a way to mount it. While googling for confer rack, I found this thread!

In looking for Confer racks recently I found www.offroadunlimited online. They sell the confer style racks. I found that Confer was out of business or bought out.

Yes, ORU took over and until recently you could still see the Con-Ferr sign on Victory Blvd. Anyway, if you can find someone to fab something for you, go for it, ORU is outrageously expensive for just about anything you want to buy.

Did someone say Conferr?

Yep, conferr was bought out by "Off Road Unlimited (http://www.defenderracks.com/)" in Burbank. Their facility located a stones throw from Kilby Kilby enterprise (http://www.kilbyenterprises.com/), and other off-road shops.

Craigslist is another good place to start, here's a link (http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/pts/308885004.html) of a shop in OC... the white jeep pictured is my friends, it too is a nice rack.

Heres a pic of my jeep with the conferr rack.

Hey Patrick, Nice lookin' Jeep! Looks a lot different than a year ago:

Looks like lift, bigger tires, and rocker protection added! I've got rockers now, but ground clearance still eludes me!

thx guys... yeah, made a few improvements on (her) the Jeep!

More importantly, improvements to the driver!!! (that would be me). When you guys said "disco's", my train of thought was, "What does the 70's dance thing have to do with Jeep's". now that i understand more jeep ackranims and such, I wanted to apologize to a fellow jeeper from BB trip last year (BB= Big Bear...not BugetBoost)I thought he kept saying he wanted to go off camping, and for me to follow him to the disco!

I was going to ask someone, but thought it rude of me, what if he just had a speech impediment.

I get it now!....Off camber & disco'ed

anyways, here are some pics (http://mysite.verizon.net/res6wq09/dadspictures/index.html)...see you out there!

Hi,
I've got 2 conferr roof racks for sale. Both are brand new still wrapped in the packaging. One is 48" x 48", and the other is 48"x 60" Both are the 4" porthole bolt together style. Asking $150 each, or $250 for the pair. These are the racks only, no mounting hardware or floor kits. I was going to modify them for a lumber rack, but I've changed my plans.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. Shipping to So. Cal would probably be about $25-35 each.
