alright...I'm thinking of buying some adrenaline for the little squirrelies under my hood. Maybe something along the lines of a Cold Air Intake, Throttle Body Spacer, Borla Headers, Dynamax exaust with a dynamax glasspack, maybe a turbo down the line...but I'ma go to the pet store down the street sooner or later and get some new squirrels.

If your gonna invest in all that just get a HO 4.0 from a wreaker and dont waste the money on things for that engine.

Take it from someone who has tried it all..save your money. Even gears did not improve my top speed!

So...you're saying...ditch the 4...buy a 6....BUT...if I buy an I6...I'll have to buy a whole new tranny too....

yeah like an Ax-15 tranny but its not that hard, go down to your local wreaking yard, or look in the paper for people who sell used engines. call hesco www.hescosc.com and see if they have any used ones.

And they forgot to mention the t/case input gear....$100 + depending on year of jeep(find a junkyard t/case along with the tranny!)...and wiring harness etc...

just buy a whole jeep with the 6 cyl in it. move your fancy parts over to the new jeep, and sell yours.

I like my YJ, and I think I'll stick with my squirrelies. Put a suspension system on it of some sort, gear it to run, and put some engine mods...better gas mileage, and I get to perform. Granted I won't be able to do ALL the stuff the larger engine can do, but I'm not planning to do anything too difficult soon, so...no worries ^.^

Or do what I did. Rather an expensive option but I sold my Mustang and bought a tow vehicle. Now I don't have to worry about the freeway speed or lack there of.

I put a 4.0 and AX15 from a Cherokee in my CJ.
If you stay with the 2.5, match the gears with the tire size.

2.4 or 2.5? you did not say what year?

I think it's the 2.5. It's a 91...so...yeah.

I thought maybe my 95 was the only one having convulsions trying to get up to 65-70m.p.h. I love my "new" 95 Wrangler and about the only thing I would really like to do is add 10, 15, 20 horsepower. Just enough to give it alittle kick in the arse. Do they have computer chips that you can install or any little tricks on tune-ups like advancing the timing and running premium fuel?

^.^ WELL, you could beef it up! CAI, Hi flow throttle body, throttlebody spacer, Headers, Exaust, stuff like that
It's hard to find stuff for the Jeep 4cyl...so yeah.
