guys...
I got question about my engine hard to start when it died on wheeling. say go over obstacle and it die, have to crank the start several time before the engine back running.
but it start good every day... hot or cold just when I'm wheeling it's hard to restart the engine.
what's wrong with it or it happen to all your jeep??
thanks
Not sure about the 4 banger, but I think a failing crankshaft position sensor (do the 2.5L's have those?) can make hot restarts difficult... Somebody else that has one may be able to confirm or kill this idea. Just a thought...

My 4-banger was hard to restart last winter when I had an exhaust leak and the cat going out. The exhaust leak was in front of the O2 sensor and screwing up the computer. Second, when the cat went out, bits and pieces of its innards blocked of the muffler causing it to die shortly after starting. However, in your case it may be a cracked intake manifold. As I understood it its a fairly common problem with the 4's. Mine cracked at 65k miles and was replaced under warantee without question.

I checked my intake manifold and there's no crack.
I've been running rich, my tail pipe is black.
pulled the error code and get 17 and 24 which is
17 running cold
24 tps sensor give low or high voltage.
reset the computer drive around and 24 is gone but still have 17
I just changed the thermostat 6 months ago. is it the thermostat or the sensor?
