High Performance: Jeep Cherokee XJ Builder’s Guide 1984-2001
By Eric Zappe
When I was asked to do a book review on MJR, I laughed a little. Reading and I never really got along too well and sometimes I fight with the English language. Nevertheless, I agreed with a sh!t eating grin.
When I received the book the first thing I noticed was the abundance of nice, glossy, color pictures. This was a plus for me, onnaccounta the reading thing. Well, I decided to read the book whilst on the throne and let me tell you, its 142 pages of NEED TO KNOW stuff . . . especially if you own an XJ. Even if you don't own an XJ, this book is filled with basic knowledge, any Jeep owner should know, that will make you sound like you know what you’re talking about when posting on internet forums.
Some of the basics include: DIY front end alignment, how to shift into 4WD, how to ID axles, death wobble and you, etc. A lot of these ideas can be transferred to other Jeep models.
Just about anything and everything that you need to know to build a well sorted XJ is in this book. From axles to steering, fender trimming to skid plates this book has it all. I wish I could post all of the chapters in the book, but I’ve already been typing this for 6 hours. Literally every component you want or need to upgrade is dealt with in this book. On top of that it’s easy to read and understand. Oh, and don’t forget it has a lot of pictures . . . pretty color ones.
The book is High Performance: Jeep Cherokee XJ Builder’s Guide 1984-2001, By Eric Zappe and sold by CarTech Books (www.cartechbooks.com (http://www.cartechbooks.com/)). If you need to know things then hop online . . . never mind you already are . . . and buy this book. The price is $25 of sweet glossy picture, Jeep tech goodness.
Good Day

PS: I don't make any coin off the sale of this book.
