jim you need to fab up some kind of retractable snatch strap reel (like the ones for air hoses) and mount it on chris' rig :D one on the front, and one on the back

MAMAHEAD bought this from her brother for really cheap. The engine and trany run great but the steering is superwack, the drivers seat slides you into the door and the shocks are gone. She's still driving the Volvo but as soon as I get a few bucks into it I'm kidnapping her Jeep !!:D

Grands are quite prevalent out here, but I have the only lifted Grand that I have seen. Seen a lifted KJ the otherday and 1 lifted XJ, quite a few lifted TJ, CJ, YJ stuff but only 2 of them looked like they were lifted to wheel.

my 2nd cousins live in aberdine(sp?) gold course, and my grandparents grew up on Jefferson St. if that rings any bells.

ok if your going to tilt the camra to make it look like your going up some thing steeper than you really are you should make shure there isn't anyone in the background. that would be really hard to run up a hill sideways.

nice rig, how do those intake cut outs work for you?

They are much better than the closed hood and all the hot engine air getting sucked into the intake. At some point I will have to figure out a water diversion system, but other than that they work great.

Melissa, the easiest and best way is to upload your images a photo site, then link them from there to here.

Many people use PhotoBucket, SmugMug, Flickr, Pbase, etc.... Prices vary from Free to $150 a year, depending on what features you'd like.

I shot some photos on Saturday (hey Barney!) up in Big Bear, and posted them to this gallery: http://nwoods.smugmug.com/gallery/5071723_skka7#305281183_dsMGq

And then to link a particular image, I click "Go Advanced" button below the message field, then click the little yellow square icon with the mountain simple in it to paste the URL from the picture on SmugMug into the message field here on MyJeepRocks:

For example:

To get the URL from SmugMug or whatever website archive service you are using, I use FireFox as my browser, and right click on the image, and choose "Copy Image Location", then paste that into the pop-up box that occurs when you click the little yellow square icon in the Advanced message tab.

It's much faster to do than it is to type or even read I'm sure.

Summary:
1. Put your images online somewhere. Right click on the image and copy the URL.
2. Go to MJR, compose your message using the Advanced tab
3. Paste the image URL (link) into MJR forum using the yellow square icon

4. Unwritten rule: Try not to link to an image larger than 800 px wide. some online services automatically create multiple sizes for sharing. Smugmug is one such service. I can upload a full size 10mb 3500px wide image, but what I past is either, S, M, L, XL, 3XL or O (original size). Works great.

1995.. drove this one everyday for two years back and fourth to LA.. put alot of miles on it.. sold it a few weeks ago.. because.. some one offered me too much for it.. LOL

I have similar plans on this one.. as I did to my 89.. cage, tube bumpers, light rack, by-pass shocks.. but.. goin to make it more trail friendly.. and keep a back seat for the little one..

thanks... my new one..(blueXJ) will be built fairly similar.. same roof lights. tube bumpers, full cage.. but with a back seat, full int. and more creature comforts.. like A/C. heated seats, stereo.. etc..

The previous photo with you standing on the hood, ore crushing plant foundation in Lytle Creek n/o of the main road? There is supposed to be a couple of old mines in the area. You know my quest for mines. I also saw a great Bighorn at the same spot (Turks Point).

heres my YJ. the day i rockguarded it. you may notice the windsheild, bit i did a quick spray on it but put a good job off on it till it was replaced.

heres the MJ. picked it up just before the snow fell. snow is still around so i havent got a chance to work on it yet. it still 2 wheel drive. but i plan on pulling all that out of the YJ. i would rather see it stripped the some else driving it.
