RANCHO RS 5000 ????
BILSTEIN monotube gas pressure..?????
or KYB monomax ????
also.. are koni's good???
im looking for a smooth sort of luxury ride.. having some fun with them as well like climbing curbs and stairs but mostly for smooooooth handling.. what do you think???? thanks

Given those choices I would only use bilstein.
The RS5000 is a generically valved shock which is generally over valved. I would also avoid the RSX as they are very stiff on a ZJ.
Koni and KYB are both overhyped in my opinion.
There are other better choices out there. Edelbrock makes a very good ZJ shock.

What about Monroe?
Monroe and Rancho are the same company. The rancho's are valved more agressively. I would try to stay away from twintube shocks. A grand can drive extremely nice with the proper setup.
I'm partial to Bilstein's, rebuildable, excellent reputation. I wouldn't even waste my time on the Rancho's or Monroes. KYB's well... Most the guys I run with swear by Bilsteins, and one of them is the guy who tests/valves them. They test the crap out of them offroad. If you were at TDS, you may have seen them working with the Rubicon Express guys on JK's.

I've heard KYB is typically better for those crazy high jumping Baja guys and street tuners...not really too wonderful for the rocks!
