Not answering there phone, any help appreciated,, Thanks T-Rated 07-21-07, 09:56 PM It looks like someone renewed their domain in March. They can't be completely dead. If you're desperate, here's their technical contact info: Tyler, Leslie ltyler777@yahoo.com 1.7142893679 A quick perusal of Usenet groups shows that their customer service isn't so hot and they rarely answer their phone or return calls. Someone around here's gotta live near there. mrchips 07-21-07, 09:59 PM thanks alot, trying to get some accessories for my bumper,,, Deamer 07-25-07, 12:34 AM I am kinda curious about them too. When I picked up my bumper from them, the owner said they were in a lawsuit with Body Armor 4x4. He said they copied his drawings when he was trying to find a shop to manufacture his designs. I guess the original Bulletproof went bankrupt a few years back and he bought the designs. If they did go under again you can probably look at body armor bumpers because except for mostly cosmetic differences they are identical. Body armor might have won seeing that they are all over the catalogs and magazines. mrchips 07-25-07, 07:52 AM What I am looking for is the Ricochet Rack ( basket )that goes above the spare tire, does not appear Body Armor makes anything????? TJeeper 07-25-07, 10:38 AM What I am looking for is the Ricochet Rack ( basket )that goes above the spare tire, does not appear Body Armor makes anything????? I have the Ricohet Rack, I would suggest to try to find another option if I were you. To get it on you have to space the spare tire all the way back. Add a cooler to the top and the Jeep is very rear heavy. I wouldn't do any technical trails with it. A friend of mine who has the same setup said once when he was on the highway driving into a headwind, the front end started coming up. Scary. durango 4x4 07-25-07, 10:50 PM Sorry to hear about your situation with the bumper. Let us know if you need a switch, maybe we can work you a good deal. PS We have the mountain basket and accessories you need, maybe ebay can help you get rid of that bumper that you can't accessorize. mrchips 07-26-07, 07:44 AM I have to say that I do like the Bulletproof Bumper , as it is very stout and has no shakes and rattles, well built and very strong,if I cant get a rack for the rear, will try to think of something else. I have a rack here adorning the wall of my garage and collecting dust. I'm in Iowa though, so packaging it up to ship isn't a fun thought. If you aren't in too big a rush, I'll be over that way at Thanksgiving and could bring it over and probably get it to you that way if you are interested. mrchips 07-31-07, 07:51 AM is it the ricochet rack made by Bulletproof bumpers that you have???? Kiwi 07-31-07, 12:08 PM is it the ricochet rack made by Bulletproof bumpers that you have???? Yes, indeed it is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v402/twokiwis/TJ%20stuff/IMG_1966.jpg mrchips 08-01-07, 07:48 AM Does not look like you ever used it. Why? I have heard a few things on it,,, please explain your likes or not,, Thanks,, Lawrence 08-01-07, 03:28 PM At the last Offroad Expo, Body Armor had a prototype basket for their carrier. I looked into it, but I ultimately decided to sell my rear bumper/carrier. Not sure if it is in production, but you might want to call them. Their rear bumper/carrier looks like the same thing as the Bulletproof, so it might work. Or be patient and help David clear out his garage :D Kiwi 08-01-07, 06:16 PM Does not look like you ever used it. Why? I have heard a few things on it,,, please explain your likes or not,, Thanks,, It was used twice to travel from Iowa to Leadville, Colorado and back. That was before we had a tow rig and trailer so we drove everywhere. All our camping gear for about 10 days plus a 85lb German shephard didn't quite fit in the back of a TJ, hence the rack. It wasn't used on the trails, I unbolted it when we got where we camped. I don't like all that weight on the back of a TJ, especially on the trails (also removed the tire carrier since then) I had 33" tires back then and the carrier fit just fine with them, however I just measured a 35" and it won't fit between the support uprights so you would need to space the tire right back as TJeeper indicated. When we were loaded up, the Jeep did get a bit lighter in front, but not sure how much of that was due to what we had on the rack or in the Jeep itself. We tried only to put bulky but relatively light stuff up there (tent, sleeping bags etc) Maybe you wouldn't notice quite so much with an Unlimited because of the additional wheelbase. I don't like racks or additional weight hanging off the back, but was a necessity for us at the time, hence the reason it is now a wall ornament. mrchips 08-01-07, 10:51 PM I think the LJ longer wheelbase will be different, also does it interfear with the Cb ant when in place. How much do you want for it? Also what is with the Kiwi, Are you from New Zealand? Also what is with the Kiwi, Are you from New Zealand? My CB antenna is on the back of the tub and there was no interference there. I'd take $100 for it, assuming you can wait until Thanksgiving week. I'll be at Johnson Valley and can bring it that far. Not sure where you are in relation to that. Let me know what you decide. Yes I'm from New Zealand. mrchips 08-03-07, 07:45 AM I live in Venice Beach, and at this time I believe I will be in northern Ca over Thanks Giving, I will take your offer of $100. Maybe I can pay for you to ship it. Kiwi 08-03-07, 06:04 PM I live in Venice Beach, and at this time I believe I will be in northern Ca over Thanks Giving, I will take your offer of $100. The CB antenna sits in front of the rack, over the spare tire. |
