They work very well. I relied on mine for an 1800 mile solo off road trek through Utah, and recently, we used one to help a motorcyclist on a remote trail east of Salton Sea who had fallen. I can't link you right now on my iPhone (cut and paste is coming soon!), but you can read about our SPOT experience and photos on my website: www.nextstepdesigns.com, and scroll down to "Bradshaw Trail"

The SPOT is a good investment in my experience.

nathan i was checking out your site looks great , but you might want to run thru celghorn again before you take your next group of nice looking landrovers , we had a H3 go thru with us and he scratched it up pretty good this trail has changed a little

If you don't want to deal with the rebates there is a So Cal company selling a limited number of SPOTs for $115.

Lots of horror stories out there about the company that SPOT is using to handle the rebates.

I'll sell you one for 75% of the normal cost ($100 instead of $150). Its new and unused, still in the box. I mistakenly bought two, my loss, your gain. This is just hte device. You still need to activate it and pay the subscription fees.
