    Elevation: 3500’ to 4200’

    North entrance on Mariposa Rd at

    3N45 has two separate railroad track crossings and one underpass.
    These are located in the area of N34° 20.291 W117° 26.377 & N34° 20.166 W117° 26.393




    Lat/Lon format is hddd° mm.mmm WGS84 datum

    Doug,

    Have you been on 3N45 lately? A few months back the uphill (north) train track crossing had been removed for future repair. It was not passible and when I asked "Kathy" she said there was a battle over that with the BNSF and the SBNF. Wasn't sure if it is open again.

      We will be doing a road survey on 3N45 on Saturday with the USFS. I'll post up the current conditions after the survey

      There has been a battle with the railroads since I have been in the volunteer program. The railroads claim right of way ownership. The distance varies from 100' to over 300' from the center of the tracks. The USDA/USFS acknowledge the railroads own & maintain the tracks. The dispute arises over the distance beyond the tracks.

        3N45 is open from Hwy 138 to Cajon Summit. It is in good shape. There are two railroad track crossings and one railroad track underpass. There weren't any gates closed.
