  • Best LE to Write Off Fix-it Ticket?

I got a ticket for lack of mud flaps a couple weeks ago. Any law enforcement office can validate the fix; however my local police (Corona) charges $75- just to do the inspection (plus $25- to the CHP that wrote the ticket). I found that the CHP in Riverside will do the validation (no mention of a fee), but I’m wondering who will be the most “off road friendly”. I’m sure a picky officer in a bad mood can find other violations. Does anyone know where I’m most likely to find a somewhat cooperative LE officer (CHP, county sheriff, local police – other than Corona),…)?

BTW – here’s my ugly solution for rear mud flaps:

Edit - PM me if you have a bright idea but don't want to publish it.

Thanks Chuck. In case anyone else hits this situation, here’s what I found:

Corona PD – charges $75 for the inspection.

Norco Sheriff – charges $26 for the inspection.

CHP (Riverside, near 91/Adams) – no charge, was quick and simple. The officer did roll his eyes a little when he first saw my mud flaps. He asked if it was my daily driver; I assured him it wasn’t. No further questions. He signed and stamped my ticket.

Only CHP can sign off on a CHP fix-it.
