  • Trail Report: Superstition Mountain OHV

A group of folks rang in the New Year in the Anza-Borrego area, but we made an excursion south to the Superstition Mountain area to explore.

Definitely need to make a long weekend adventure to the area for another run.

The video for this run is here:

The Video was great Mike, glad to see your Jeep on the trail again!

Those trails look fun, I haven't run the harder trails out that way, anybody have GPX of the trip? Any planned return trips before summer time while the weather is still favorable for the desert?
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

Looks like a great opportunity for an over-nighter. How far do you think 33's would get out there? Most looks doable to me.

              I have done it on 33's with front & rear DL, and a 4:1 t'case w/4: 88 R&P.
You will bring back some 'rock-rash'.

I am on 35's and was the smallest Jeep on that trip. I only had a little difficulty on two obstacles- the one waterfall I made and the one we all had to winch. You would have an easier time with your longer wheelbase, but may hang up on your belly more. The nice thing about the trails out there is they all kind of intersect so you could just go down another trail to go around a harder section.

SD boys over at Jeepforum.com did the San Diego 4wheelers Superstition run last weekend and it was a blast. Due to the HEAVY rain and flash flooding on Friday we thought all was lost but come Saturday it sucked up pretty fast. We hit "Kevin's Waterfall" otherwise known as Broken Mirror and then up on through the Wishbone sections and finished the evening on Wishbone 7 (which is a BLAST to run) . Here's a couple videos of the wknd. 1st was off my phone and the other is off a DJI Mavic drone... For some reason the 1st vid might start 1/2 way in. I don't understand why

Nice videos. Looks like it was a good run. Wishbone 7 looks like a Must Do trail.

I want to get back out there soon.
