hey i noticed markleeville and i was wondering if youve been up around highland lakes, and if you have are all those jeep trails up there closed?

Was up in the highland lakes area late last summer. USFS is closing a lot of roads down. However their is some wheelen still to be done, old logging roads etc... I'm working on getting a key right now from a friend that may let me run the Barny Riley Trail.

So there still is some open logging roads? Or do you need the key? I couldnt imagine the trails being very tough since they are logging roads, or am i wrong because they arent taken care of?

I'm not in the Army anymore. I got out a while ago (10 years). I was a Motion Picture Specialist and Still Photographer.

                  From the Atlantic coast......

You Easterners aren't alone. There are a few of us here. From Boston area, transplanted to the Wachusett Mountain area. Plenty of wet hills, mud, snow, rivers, fallen trees, rocks and more snow around here! All Terrainns just won't do... need MT's. Can't wait till spring when it all starts melting and becomes one big slippery mountain of goo!

I've seen IGOFISHIN on jeepforum... man I thought you were an easterner too!

Seems like a great board! There's a run this weekend in Warren Mass.. I'll try my damnest to be there... gotta get the wife and kids to cooperate!

                  Peace Out...

                              • Hi, I am Ed and I have a 77 CJ7. it has the 304 V8, three speed trans, stock front diff, the rear diff has been changed out to a 44 (ran a detroit locker in the rear diff for many years but finally got tired of it and swapped it out with a posi), Warn 6k winch, 33x12.50 BFG Mud tires, threw the original low back seats out years ago and installed a set of those hard plastic racing seats (try sitting on those things for a long trip in a rough riding Jeep!). no back seat, bare carpetless floor (planning on coating inside of body tub with that DIY bed liner paint). Been on the Rubicon once about 15 years ago and went anywhere the two other flat fenders I was with went. I have driven this Jeep all over the Sierras, mostly around highway 88 and highway 4. I have had this Jeep since the early 80's when I had to trailer it home because it did not run, put more than enough money into it to have bought a new Jeep. it mainly gets driven in the summer now and has not even been in 4 wheel drive for over 12 <gasp> years! it has just over 100k original miles. this Jeep was my daily driver for many years (my daily driver is now a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 double cab pickup)
