Dishpan Springs, Holcomb Creek Trail and John Bull
July 4, 2003 • Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear, CA
Dishpan Springs is adopted by the Dirt Devils.

The weather ended up perfect, but the bugs were, well, quite buggy. The trip started with MJR's first run over the newly revamped Deep Creek/Dishpan Springs trail. The Dirt Devils did a great job on the new bridge, and they are making some good progress on the new and improved entrance. The final touches should be added this weekend, July 12, to make for a sufficiently challenging obstacle to discourage vehicles that are not worthy of the waterfall from getting past the entrance. They have done a great job thus far, as it was a bit of a challenge already! We did manage to get a long bed S–10 over it though, so there is still some work to do! We met up with some rockin' Jeepers from the San Diego 4 Wheelers club on Saturday. Congratulations to the newlyweds Jim and Kelly (they got married in Big Bear and had a Jeepin' honeymoon!!!) Everyone who didn't make it missed a great time, so hopefully we catch you next time!

The *new* Deep Creek bridge! Yes, the trail was open!!
We came across the Dirt Devils working on the beginning rock garden ... Yes! The trail was open!
The Dishpan Waterfall - and Quinn's (wife's) Jeep!
Holcomb Creek - and the SD dudes we met too!
John Bull on Sunday – Look at Brian go!
