The hot sun once again woke us up. Why
the sun was never hot when it was time to jump in the
lake - we'll never know.
We headed through a nice mud bog for a while and got
to see what the wheels on the CJ would look like black!
Approaching Cadillac Hill we came across a really long
lineup of stopped Jeeps because of a broken down quad
on the trail. After they shoved it off the side of the
hill (ok, well, they really didn't do that) and we started
moving again, we made it about 300 feet before we were
stopped again!
Cadillac Hill wasn't as "scary" as everyone
made it out to be, but it was a rocky tough incline.

That took us to Lookout Point where we
all had random people take our group photo. The rest
of the trail was mostly a bumpy road taking us to the
staging area.
After airing up we stopped by the nearest restaurant
and gas station. We were a little too slow, obviously,
and got caught in the "Flash Flood Warning"
that Erik heard on the radio. Cool rain and whipping
hail were not only hitting the road, but filling up
the Jeeps! We all needed a bath anyway.
Rick and Sarah broke off from the group in Icehouse
to grab the doors and headed down 395, where the Jeep
turned 200,000 miles and the sun was doin' the thing! |
